The BVSD TAG Office offers Super Saturdays and Sometimes Grants
We are pleased to announce the availability of funds for Super Saturdays and Sometimes activities for the 2008-09 school year. Application for a maximum of $200.00 per activity may be made. Super Saturdays and Sometimes funds are to be used to provide enrichment activities for students. Activities must be held before or after school or on weekends. Activities taking place during the regular school day will not be funded. The deadline for applications is April 15, 2009, and activities must be held prior by May 15, 2009. You will be notified of acceptance of your application within a week of its receipt. Requests for the sole purpose of providing transportation are discouraged.
In your application, please include:
·Amount of money requested and what it will provide
·What the enrichment activity is
·When it will be held (date and time)
·Number of students participating
·Grade level(s) of students participating
·Qualifications of presenter to teach children in this enrichment area (if relevant)
·Name of the school contact person organizing the activity and requesting the funds
Note: Sponsor will need to fill out an evaluation of the activity gathered from student input and a final checklist. These will be provided to the applicant upon receiving funding and must be returned to the TAG office upon completion of the activity.
Examples of some of the kinds of activities funded in the past are:
Civil War reenactment, poetry and writing workshops, cartooning workshops, lego-logo classes, puppet theater, multi-cultural festivals, readers' slumber party, Mesa Verde study and pottery making, attending the Environmental and Earth Science Expo, theater arts day at the Arvada Center, storytelling, animal care classes, physics night, folk dancers, intro to electronics, magic and math, geological study, paleontology field trip, and many others.
