2010 Summer School Dates:
Semester 1: June 7 - June 24
Semester 2: June 28 - July 15

Notice:  Summer school information has not yet been finalized for 2010. Information will be posted no later than April 1, 2010.

Overview Information:
Dates:

Semester 1: June 7 –June 24
Semester 2: June 28-July 15

Days: Monday-Thursday
Times: 7:30 am - 12:30 pm
Sites: Centaurus High School and Boulder High School
and virtually from your computer
Credits: 5 credits, per semester

Registration Information:
Registrations for 1st semester must be received by June 1.
Registrations for 2nd semester must be received by June 21.
Registration forms should be submitted to Sherry Barber.

Include payment with form.
Registrations received after the deadline will be
added to a waitlist and not guaranteed a seat. Notification will be sent prior to the first day of class.

Tuition Information:
Cash, credit card, personal check, or money order
$225 per semester (at BHS and CHS)
$25 Out-of-District transcript fee
$225 per Credit Recovery online course
$375 per Regular online course
$400 per AP online course

Confirmation of Registration:
You will receive email confirmation that your student has
been enrolled in summer school. His/Her schedule will be displayed (and updated if need be) in the Infinite Campus
Parent Portal.
Registration is on a 1st come, 1st served basis. Classes
may cap out, please register early.

High School Attendance Policy:
Since the required hours for courses are condensed into a
three week period, it is vital that students attend every class. Students absent more than 7.5 hours will be dropped from the class, without a refund.  Students dropped due
to attendance will receive a NC on their transcript.

Summer school is a closed campus.  Any student who
leaves during the day must check out in the office or they
will be marked absent for the day.

Special Education Services/504:
Any student receiving such services is responsible for providing a copy of the IEP/accommodations to their summer school teacher in order for accommodations to be met. It is recommended that the student and parent briefly meet with the summer school teacher to discuss the necessary accommodations.

Online Courses:
Regular, AP and Credit Recovery courses may be taken online from home or at the summer school computer labs. All online courses must be completed by August 10, 2010.

Refund Policy:
Classes must be dropped one week before class begins for a full refund. Classes dropped within 1 week of the beginning of the session will receive a 50% refund. Classes dropped after the first week of the session will not receive a refund.

Financial Aid from the City of Boulder: The City of Boulder Youth Opportunities Program offers individual grants of up to $200 to help middle or high school students. City of Boulder residents pay for educational opportunities they cannot otherwise afford. This money comes from a city sales tax. City of Boulder residents may apply to this fund to help pay for summer school. Prior to receiving funding, students will be required to do a specific amount of volunteer work. Financial Aid from BVSD: Partial assistance is available for a limited number of students.
