Bullying Prevention

Bullying negatively impacts the academic, emotional, and physical wellbeing of students.  All people are negatively impacted when bullying is a problem in school, including targets, kids who bully, bystanders, and school staff.

Not all conflict is bullying.  Bullying involves an imbalance of power and intent to cause harm.  Bullying and harassment take many forms: cyberbullying; physical, sexual, and verbal intimidation; and relational and physical aggression.  Some forms of bullying may rise to the level of criminal acts, including sexual and physical assault, and must be treated as such.

A variety of resources are available to schools regarding bullying/harassment prevention and building positive school climate.
