Note:  If you need to enroll your child in our school for the fall, please read these enrollment instructions.

School's Out, Summer's In

Even though school is out for the summer months, there are opportunities available to keep your child in touch with learning.  First, our school is continuing our Summer Library Program on Wednesdays from 4-6, starting on June 2nd!  Come in, listen to stories, and check out books.

Student Council Service Day

On Sunday, May 16, 4th and 5th grade Student Council members spent an afternoon giving back to Superior.  About 35 members showed up and worked hard beautifying the grounds at SES.  They weeded, improved our gardens in the front, and moved landscape rocks to the back of the school.  We were so impressed with the hard work and dedication these leaders showed!  For more pictures, go to our Student Council page.

On Monday, May 24, student council invited representatives from two organizations, There with Care and Canine Partners of the Rockies, to receive their $1,017.25 checks!  This is the money our school raised during our Penny Harvest this year.  The organizations were both honored and amazed.  Thank you, Superior, for your generosity throughout the year.  We look forward to continuing our friendships with these groups next year.  For more information, visit their websites:

PBS:  Positive Behavior Support

This year at SES all students are learning and focusing on three character traits: Respect, Acceptance, and Responsibility. All classes are discussing what these traits look like in various areas around the school.

As kids returned from winter break, they were treated to a PBS video starring some of our Student Council members.  In the video, the actors demonstrated positive hallway behaviors.  Students were challenged to identify the behavior and discuss how they as a class demonstrate these behaviors to make our school a better place.

When students are seen demonstrating these positive traits, whether they are in the hallway, cafeteria, outside or in the classroom, they earn a 'Rock and Roll' ticket (Rock and Roll is our motto for Respect, Acceptance, & Responsibility). This ticket is not only a sign of their strong character, it can be turned into the office, entering the students in a raffle for prizes. Ask your child more about these traits!

Box Tops for Education

Our January Box Tops contest runs from now until Wednesday, January 27.  Please use the "Clip and Flip" redemption sheet attached to this message to turn in your Box Tops to your child's classroom.  Each sheet holds 10 Box Tops.  A collection sheet will go home in every Friday Folder this week as well.  Additional sheets can be obtained from the teachers if you prefer not to download and/or make your own copies.  The class who turns in the most Box Tops wins Goodie Bags for every student.
