Hello, I'm a new Assistant Principal for Monarch K-8
I am Sarah Oswick, and I am thrilled to be joining your school as a new Assistant Principal! You probably all heard that I took this position at the last minute. Thanks for the warm welcome and genuine caring from every single person on the Monarch staff, I already feel like a part of the team.
Prior to coming here, I taught at Birch Elementary school. Yup, that is where Ms. Stegall is now, we traded schools. In my years of teaching, I taught kindergarten, first grade and was a K-5 librarian. This is my fourth year in the Boulder Valley School District and, before that, I taught in a small private school in Broomfield.
I lived in Boulder with my husband, Pierce, for the past five years. One fascinating fact about us is that we are high school sweethearts! We both grew up south of Cleveland, Ohio. Since college, we have lived on both coasts, Seattle, WA, and Philadelphia, PA. Even with some great places to compare quality of life, we think Colorado has it all! We love the great outdoors… hiking, camping, skiing and canoeing. Less than two weeks ago, we moved to Golden.
I can already see that Monarch K-8 is a wonderful place where respect is of paramount importance and safety is always first. From the 6th grade WEB event last Friday to the first day for all our other students, I am impressed with the caring community created here. Thank you all for the warm welcome I have already received from the Monarch community!
