Assemblies All students and staff meet every other Monday at 8:45am to reinforce our strong sense of community and to practice appropriate assembly behaviors. Birthdays are recognized, activities are announced, awards are given, and students perform special talents. |

Elementary Spanish Program (ESP) Tuition-based program to learn Spanish. The program meets twice a week, on Mondays and Wednesdays, at 7:40AM. |

Fitness Club The fitness club walks, runs and jogs during the spring, with many students training for the Bolder Boulder. Last year, 150 parents and children participated. |

Handbell Choir Fifth grade students audition to participate in this group that performs at a variety of school and community events. |

Instrumental Music Fifth grade students work with strings, brass and woodwinds twice each week during the school year. Instrument rental is available. |

Jump Rope for Heart A school-wide opportunity in February for children to raise money for the American Heart Association. |
|
Junior Great Books Students from 2nd-5th read and interpret literature in small groups led by volunteers. |

Kidlingua Provides before and after school foreign language classes for students. It is a tuition-based program initiated by a former Mesa parent and taught by native language speakers. |

K-Care This tuition-based, Community Schools program offers half-day care for students in our kindergarten classes. Curriculum is coordinated with Kindergarten teachers. Children enrolled experience a full day of school, including lunch with 'the big kids.' |

Math Olympiads 4th and 5th graders meet weekly to expand math skills and compete on the Math Olympiad team. |

Math Support Supplemental support is available for all students in grades K-5. |

Mile Run Each grade visits the track at Fairview High School to run one mile. Students set individual goals and try to exceed their individual personal best time. |

M&M's This vocal music group is for all interested 4th and 5th graders. Numbering over 100 students, it performs three concerts per year. Parent volunteers assist in a production of a musical each year. Our latest was "Guys and Dolls." |

Musical Productions Each spring, students in first, second, third and fourth grades perform in grade level science or social studies curriculum-related musicals. |

Outdoor Education/Adventure Fourth graders spend three days at the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park. Fifth grade students spend three days at Snow Mountain Ranch in Granby. Activities focus on regular academic curricula, outdoor education, and adventure education including orienteering and map reading skills. |

Resource Room Students with Individual Educational Plans work with specially trained teachers in the regular classroom and in our Resource Room. |

Science Club This is an after-school tuition-based program for K-5 students. Each session emphasizes different scientific concepts. |

Spellathon Sponsored by the Student Council, this school-wide activity raises funds for our ISSE program. |

Student Council Delegates from each class work together to deal with school issues and provide community service. |

Successful Beginnings Volunteers and paraprofessionals staff this one-on-one academic assistance reading program for students in first through third grade. |

Talented and Gifted (TAG) Identified students in second through fifth grade work in small groups with their peers on a variety of language arts, math and science projects. |

Technology Support Supplemental student support for our school technology efforts is provided by our PTO. |

Track and Field Each spring, students in each grade level spend a half day competing in a variety of outdoor events. |

YMCA Day Care The YMCA offers tuition-based before- and after- school day care in our cafeteria. |
