In 2008, Mesa Elementary teamed up with the Growe Foundation to create an onsite, organic vegetable garden. This unique and important program includes an integrated education component by incorporating wellness, healthy food choices, and a lifetime of sustainability into the curriculum.

By offering the kids regular hands-on learning opportunities — both in the garden, and with visiting chefs and a variety of expert speakers — students are given the necessary tools to make healthier choices for their bodies, minds, and environment.

Stop by to see the garden in action and join us for the many fun activities and learning opportunities throughout the year! You don’t have to be a gardener to get involved. See the volunteer section for more information.
