Husky Food Share

The purpose of this program is to help students gain a better understanding of the community in which they live. By participating, your 3rd-5th grade child will learn about Community Food Share, who it serves, and how your child can have a positive impact by participating in community service. Your child will be involved in sorting and/or repacking food. There will be opportunities during this time to have conversations about local and global issues related to food needs. Want to help? We also need parent volunteers to drive!

This program will run the first Friday of each month (except January); Please choose one date (repeaters are welcome if there is space) to participate and fill out a permission form found below.

The schedule is as follows:

2:30 - Meet in Pit area at school (bring snack) 2:45 – Leave for CFS 3:00 - Begin volunteer work repacking and sorting food 4:10 - Pack up and go back to Heatherwood 4:20 - Parent pickup in the Pit area/Kindergarten playground

A parent volunteer who has met the district’s requirements will transport your
child. Please have your child pack a simple snack.
