PTO/SIT Budget

The 2009-2010 Fiscal Budget Process is underway.  This is the first draft of the fiscal 2010 Budget (next step is to get parent input before finalizing the budget):

Key items in 2010 Budget:

  • 20% reduction in expenses
  • Transition for literacy flooding and computer lab programs
  • Increased funding in targeted areas where there is need

PTO Meeting Dates

PTO meets on the 1st Wednesday of every month.  All meetings are held in the Douglass Art Room (#11) and everyone is welcome to attend.

Grade Level Representatives

Welcome to our new Grade Representatives!

Grade Representatives attend monthly PTO meetings as a way of improving communication between the PTO, staff and families.  Grade Reps will share information and event updates with parents in their child's grade, as well as to bring parent input back to the PTO Board.  Grade Reps may wish to find opportunities to work on PTO committees or events, but this is not a requirement.  The PTO Volunteer Coordinators may ask Grade Reps to assist with volunteer recruitment, as needed.  The commitment for this position is one school year.

Nutcracker Ticket Sales

Douglass Elementary is proud to recognize four of our students who will be performing in the Boulder Ballet and the Boulder Philharmonic’s Thanksgiving weekend production of the Nutcracker at Macky Auditorium.  Congratulations to Bronwyn Ellis (cast B), Mahri Hereid (cast B), Carolyn Munley (cast B) and Julia Smith (cast A)!  If you would like to see any of these young ladies in this beautiful holiday classic, tickets can be purchased for a discounted price.  When you purchase your tickets through Douglass Elementary, you will get 10% off the box office price and Boulder Ballet will contribute 20% of the original ticket price to our school as a fundraiser.  So support a friend, enjoy a classic and help your school!  Print out the attached ticket form and return it to the office with payment by October 23rd.  Tickets will be distributed the week of November 16th.  If you have any questions, please contact Kelly McGahan (Hereid) at 303.910.8357 or houseofhealth@comcast.net.
