Welcome to Douglass Elementary School

Douglass has a longstanding reputation as a neighborhood school, offering a challenging academic program, high–quality instruction in the arts, and a welcoming and embracing school climate. Douglass has received many awards, including the Colorado Department of Education’s “school of excellence” for high academic achievement and the “creative ticket school of excellence” award for exemplary arts programs. Douglass also has been recognized by the School Mediation Project for its strong character education program. Parent volunteerism is high, and the staff is highly committed to meeting the needs of all children.

The Spring Book Swap is coming to Douglass!

March 9th 8:00 am - 7:30 pm

March 10th 8:00 am - 3:00 pm

March 11th 8:00 am - 7:30 pm


Bring your gently used books for credit by March 5th to the Douglass Library.  Make sure you include first and last name of the student and total number of books. Students will have the opportunity to exchange their credit for other used books.  Books can also be purchased for $.25 each. 

This is a great way to read "new to you" titles and help the environment at the same time.  Expand your mind without expanding a landfill.
