Teaching Experience
My teaching experience began in Broomfield, CO, where I taught 2nd grade for two years. I then moved to Louisville Elementary where I taught 4th grade and was selected for the ARC state teacher of the year. In 1990, while teaching seminars for the State Department of Education on integrating special needs students into the classroom, I began teaching fifth grade at Crest View Elementary. While at Crest View I have been the building 6-trait writing trainer and have led seminars for staff, students, and parents. For the past 7 years I have taught the advanced 5/6 grade math class for the grade level allowing students to skip 6th grade math in middle school.
Personal Note
I was the manager for AAA Auto Club of Northern Colorado with offices in Boulder, Greeley, and Ft. Collins. I also taught prenatal exercise classes, parenting classes and Lamaze childbirth classes to over four hundred couples in the Boulder area. It has been wonderful having some of my “Lamaze babies” in my 5th grade class over the years!
