Goals and Objectives
ESL students bring with them a rich diversity of cultural and linguistic backgrounds to which they are adding the English language and American culture.
Goals of ESL instruction at Centaurus are:
- Students will use English with confidence and expertise to learn, create, and communicate.
- Students will use English competently as critical thinkers and discriminating consumers.
- Students are able to enjoy and appreciate the beauty and power of language and literature.
- Students understand and appreciate literature in its cultural, literary, and aesthetic contexts.
