CONNECTIONS

The Connections Program at Centaurus will serve a very important role for students.  This program will provide a “second chance” opportunity for students who are losing credit due to excessive unexcused absences.  For students to be in the Connections Program, they must be passing the class.  Credit can be regained through work in Connections or through Community Service in various places in the community.  For every credit lost – it takes 3 hours of Connections to regain that credit if it is within a semester.  For credits lost the previous year – it takes 18 hours of Connections to regain that credit. 

LOSS OF CREDIT

If a student has more than four unexcused absences in any one class, academic sanctions will be imposed through loss of credit.
Students begin to lose credit as of the 5th unexcused absence in each class.

            5th UNX = loss of one credit
            6th UNX = loss of two credits
            7th UNX = loss of three credits
            8th UNX = loss of four credits

If a student is still passing the class but is receiving partial credit due to the absences, the Connections Program is available as an alternative to regain the lost credit.
