Located in Lafayette, CO, our population of just over 1000 students enjoy the rich academic, athletic, and extracurricular offerings Centaurus provides. Although our student body is small, we are able to offer a plethora of courses, sports, and activities common to much larger schools. Our students have been recipients of the Boettcher, the Bill & Melinda Gates Millenium, and our own CU-Boulder Engineering Academy Scholarships - among others.
Have you heard: It is that time again: Freshman Parent Transition Night is Monday 2/8/10 from 6:30 to 8:30. An ELECTIVE CLASS gallery walk is in the Commons after the main course presentations. On February 3rd the "4th Annual Student Anti-Genocide Forum" will be hosted at the University of Denver. Centaurus High School students from Terry Fostvedt's AP Language and Composition class will be attending and four of them have been selected to present their research project on the International Criminal Court. These students--Katelyn Lynch, Jillian Metcalfe, Sami Maierhofer, and Elaine Proulx--were chosen from dozens of students from the Denver metropolitan area. This conference is "an interactive experiential student-led service learning, social action, and philanthropy initiative". Through this process, students are empowered to speak out against man's inhumanity to man and make a difference.

Message to Parents

Dear Warrior Parents,

It’s hard to believe that we are in the second half of our first semester. Our students have remained focused on their studies and are doing very well. I am extremely proud of their hard work and accomplishments. Although hard to believe, we only have a few weeks before final exams. Now is the time for students to begin studying. Most final exams are comprehensive final exams. In other words, they cover the entire semester. Thus, students should continue to review their notes and previous tests so that they are the best prepared.

Centaurus High School’s Open Enrollment Night is November 17^th at 6:00 p.m. Please encourage your neighbors of high school-aged students to visit Centaurus High School’s OE night and to learn more about the excellent academia and extra-curricular activities we offer.

I would like to thank the many parents who have donated their time and resources this year. I was overwhelmed by the amount of tissues and hand sanitizers we received from parent donations. You are helping keep all of our students and staff healthy during cold/flu season. I would also like to thank the many parents who have attended our School Improvement Team meetings. This year, we have expanded our parent meetings to also include students and staff. Thank you for supporting Centaurus High School!
