Structure:
A) Four tardies in one class in one semester = Tier 1 penalty
B) Four tardies in a second class = Tier 2 penalty OR 4 additional tardies in the same class = Tier 2 penalty
C) Additional four tardies in any course = Tier 3 penalty
-This resets each semester
-A meeting with student, parent, teacher/administrator is expected when Tier 3 penalty is enacted
Penalties:
Tier 1) Lunch Detention on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
This involves the student sitting at a separate cafeteria table, finishing lunch in 15 min. and cleaning tables for the remainder of the period. If the student is absent from their penalty, the detention will be doubled. If the student is absent from their penalty a second time, it will be escalated to Defiance and will be dealt with by an administrator.
Tier 2) 6:30 am - 7:20 or 3:10 - 4:00 pm trash clean up on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
Students are to report to the Main Office at the assigned time (the time is chosen by the student so that legitimate conflicts can be avoided). Students will be given an area to clean. If the student is absent from their penalty, the detention will be doubled. If the student is absent from their penalty a second time, it will be escalated to Defiance and will be dealt with by an administrator. If the student has eight tardies in one class at the point, a parent will be contacted regarding this issue.
Tier 3) Two weeks of trash clean up: 6:30 am - 7:20 or 3:10 - 4:00 pm trash clean up on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday (repeated the next week)
