9th graders needed as Shadowees
The shadow program is a way for 8th graders to get a feel for BHS and help them make a decision on which High School to attend. This is accomplished by attending classes with a current BHS student. We normally have around 200 8th graders who shadow so we need a lot of freshman volunteers, especially guys. Please consider applying for this important role as we show 8th graders just how great our school really is!
Shadowing Details:
- Shadowing will take place the weeks of November 17th and January 12th. There will be no shadows on Wednesdays due to the TAP schedules
- We cannot assign you a shadow if you have a free period while the shadow is at BHS. If you have B lunch you must have classes 2nd , 3rd and 4th period. If you have A lunch you must have classes 2nd, 3rd, and 4th or 5th, 6th, and 7th. If you have free periods and you know someone who wants to shadow you, you can set it up with that individual and have them schedule through the shadow office at boulder.shadow@bvsd.org. This is called a “Self Assigned” shadow.
- You will need to check the list posted in the Cafeteria, across from where you purchase food, to see if you have shadows. Check daily during the shadow weeks. You will also receive an email. We will start scheduling the 8th grade shadows the week of October 17th.
- You will not have more than 2 shadows a week for the 2 weeks and we try to match everyone with at lease one shadow.
- Leave a note in the Principal’s office if there is a day you cannot have a shadow due to sports, tests or other circumstances or email boulder.shadows@bvsd.org
- When you have a shadow scheduled you need to meet your shadow at the Auditorium before 2nd or 5th period and take them to your classes for a ½ day (2nd – 4th or 5th – 7th periods)
- Introduce your shadow to you friends and answer their question about BHS
- You need to attend all your classes when you have a shadow and you will not be able to take them off campus.
