 Meet Your Teacher

Hello!  I am Mrs. Hoskins and I teach 6th grade L.A. and reading.  I have been teaching for 14 years and seven of those years have been at Southern Hills Middle School.  This picture is of my family.  It includes my husband, Ryan, my three-year-old, Mia, my two-year-old, Paige, and our chocolate lab named Mousse.  (He was my first "baby," and you'll hear more about him as we get into narrative writing because I'll share a story I wrote about him).  When I'm not at school teaching, I'm spending time with my family.  Mia and Paige keep me very busy.

Aside from doing things with my family, I enjoy hiking and taking bike rides, exercising, scrapbooking, and of course, reading.  I don't get to do as much pleasure reading as I would like, because I stay pretty busy reading the papers you're writing in class this year.  Not to mention, I have my own homework to do since I'm going to graduate school.  I already have a bachelor's degree in secondary education in English and a master's degree in reading.  Right now, I am taking classes to earn another master's degree in school library.
