2nd Grade Teacher Biographies Adele Bravo
Adele Bravo was raised in Southern California and moved to Colorado in 1991. She graduated from Azusa Pacific University with a degree in Social Work. She began her teaching career in California and upon moving to Colorado earned a Master’s Degree in Education at Regis University. Adele has been teaching for Boulder Valley School District for 18 years. She has taught at 3 elementary schools and served as a Literacy Coach for 2 years. This is her 4th year at Sanchez.
In 2006 Adele was awarded the honor of Colorado Teacher of the Year. She spent the year as an ambassador for public education visiting schools all across the state. She was a featured speaker at many events and continues to do presentations as a voice for teachers. During the year Adele also had the opportunity to attend national conventions in Alabama, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington D.C. and Texas. One of the highlights was going to the White House in Washington D.C. and meeting the President of the United States of America. It was a year of adventure, travel and "once-in-a-lifetime" experiences.
Adele loves to read, write, garden and spend time with her two daughters. She aspires to awaken in her students a love of words, books, numbers, the world, learning . . . a love of life. She hopes to inspire her students just as they inspire her.

Rita Kendrick
Rita
Kendrick is enjoying her fourth year of teaching at Sanchez.
She spent the first three years as a literacy specialist. She also taught first and third grade in Wheat Ridge, Colorado before
taking time off to spend with her three daughters. In
1990, Rita graduated from CU with a degree in Psychology. She had met
her husband in college, and moved with him to San Diego, where she
earned her teaching credential at San Diego State University. She and
her growing family moved between Colorado and California before finally
settling in Louisville nine years ago.
Rita
just completed her MA in Education, with an emphasis in reading, from
Regis University. In her free time she is a Girl Scout leader, and
teaches religious education at her church.
Rita
especially enjoys spending time with her husband and their three
daughters. Camping, hiking, skiing, and gardening are some of her
favorite activities. Being a Colorado native, she is lucky to have many
family members near by, and sees them often.
Paige Wild (2nd Grade/Math Coach)
Paige Wild is currently in her ninth year at Sanchez. She has a bachelor’s degree in social work. After an internship as a school social worker, she realized that she would rather be a teacher. She attended CU and received her teaching certificate in 1996.
A California native, she worked for eleven summers at a summer camp for inner-city kids. She had worked her way up to assistant camp director before she finally turned her focus to the wilderness and backpacking. She has hiked the Himalayas as well as 300 miles of the Continental Divide Trail.
Paige is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer, having served over two years as a teacher and Women In Development Volunteer in Thailand. She lived and worked in a rural rice-farming village, where she learned much more than she taught.
Finally, she has settled down and married her artistic husband Jonathan, and has a new son, Orion, whom she happily has given up her wandering ways for. Well, at least for the moment.
