We know that your child’s education is very important to you!
Here are some reminders to get the school year off to a great start:

• Help your child be organized by helping them get their backpack ready for the next day the night before. A consistent and organized morning routine will make things more peaceful for everyone and will help make sure your child will on time for school.
• Encourage your child by asking about school everyday. Ask open-ended questions such as, “What was your favorite part of the day?”
• Make school and homework a priority. Good attendance and completing work is critical to your child’s learning and success.
• Make sure your child has the school supplies they need (talk to someone in the office if you need assistance)
• Show your pride in your child by hanging up their work in your home.
• Ensure that your child get the recommended 9-10 hours of sleep each night.
• Eating fresh and healthy food is important for growth and brain development. Make sure your child gets a healthy breakfast each day!

• Read Friday Folder materials and other communication from your child’s teacher and the school
• It’s a fact: children do better in school when their parents/guardians get involved at their school. NES has many fun family events every year for you to participate in. 
• If your time permits, be a volunteer!
• Join the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) or School Improvement Team (SIT.)
