Monarch's marching program is supported by a host of professional marching band instructors, as well as parent volunteers. In 2007, the Coyote Marching Band placed 5th in the State Marching Band Competition, and 2nd in the Metro-Denver Regional Competition. Marching students are required to spend time outside of school preparing for marching competitions. During the marching season, students spend about 300 hours outside of regular school hours practicing for competitions.
Marching Band usually competes in 5 competitions during the Fall and performs at every home football game. The competitions take place mid-September to late October. The marching band goes to Disney World once every four years to compete nationally. The band went to Disney World in Spring of 2005, so the next school year trip is 2008-2009. Monarch also marches in the Labor Day Parade and the Parade of Lights in Louisville every year as well as the 4th of July Parade in Superior.
