Lunch Program
Parents are encouraged to pay for multiple lunches on the first day of
each week. Individual lunches and drinks may be purchased daily. The
cashier will monitor the number of lunches and/or drinks a student has
remaining. Students are not allowed to "charge" lunches.

Student Check Out
If a student is to be picked up by someone other than a parent/guardian
they must be listed on the student release form. A written permission
from the parent will be accepted as long as it is dated and signed. The
office staff may require a form of identification to keep our kids safe.
Student Absences/Tardies
Parents are asked to inform the school when their children are going to
be absent. Let the school know in advance of any anticipated absence
(appointment, trips, etc.).
If you child is ill, please call the attendance line, 303-447-5553 by 9:00
a.m., and leave a message which includes your name and relationship to the
child, the child's name, grade and teacher, and reason for absence. The
school will make a reasonable effort to follow-up on student absences that
have not been reported.

Students who are tardy should stop by the school office for a hand stamp.
It is our practice to send out reminder letters to the parents of students
that accumulate either 5 or more "unexcused" absences or 10 or more
tardies. We define an "unexcused" absence as one for which we did not
receive a written note or phone call from the parents.
Medication Policy
The only time that students may be given medication at school is when the
following school district policy requirements are in place.
1. A written order is received from the physician or dentist
stating the child's name, the name of the medication, dose, time it is
to be administered, the date when the medication is to be stopped,
and a parent or guardian signature.
2. The medication must be in a properly labeled container that
states the student's name, name of the medication, dosage, time,
and dates to be administered.

This policy includes all medication; even those purchased "over the
counter." Medication forms for this purpose are available in each school
as well as in most family healthy care and pediatric offices in the area.
Because of the inherent concerns involved in giving medication in the
school setting, we request that medication be given at home if possible.
School Closing
If a school closing appears possible, students and staff members should be
advised to watch these TV Stations for announcements: Channels 4, 7 & 9.
You may also tune to area radio stations for information regarding school
closures.
