Special Education is for students with a range of abilities, who have been diagnosed as having a handicapping condition. Students, teachers, parents, counselors, psychologists, social workers, nurses, and administrators participate in the referral process for special education. These courses teach new strategies, and skills for improving academic success. Students learn to organize information, to prepare for daily requirements, tests, and to improve reading, math and writing skills as identified in the student's Individual Education Plan (IEP).
