The Mathematics Department at Fairview has had a long and extraordinary history. An outstanding staff of talented and experienced teachers lead the way for a group of outstanding students who have an undying desire for learning. Every year, this department produces more than its share of students who excel in mathematics and show it by achieving high standards in national competitions and exams and by going on to reach even higher goals. In addition to tests such as the American High School Math Exam (AHSME), students participate in special events such as Colorado State University Math Day and their own special projects. Classes are offered in all fields of mathematics in basic, standard, and advanced programs up to AP Calculus AB/BC and IB Mathematics. Many students subsequently enroll in concurrent classes at the University of Colorado to continue their education.
