The Business and Computer Education Department at Fairview High School provides instruction for all students in the fields of Business and Computer Science. Business classes include Word Processing I (Keyboarding), Word Processing II, Personal Finance, Accounting, United States Business Law and Practice, Business Foundations, and Business Management. Computer classes include Basic Programming, Java Programming, Internet/Web Applications, Desktop Publishing, and Mastering Computer Applications. AP Computer Science (Java), IB Computer Science (Java) and IB Business are offered at the more advanced levels. All business and computer courses incorporate the highest level of computer technology available in order to properly train students for the future. Fairview requires 5 credits (1 semester) of Practical Arts courses; business and computing courses fulfill this requirement.
