 The Casey Community Learning Center

The Casey Community Learning Center (CLC) is delighted to provided after-school, weekend and summer activities for your child. All programming is available to all students regardless of ability to pay (i.e. students need not have any money to participate!).  We provide supervision, RTD bus passes and snacks for all activities. In addition to the activities described in the right column, the Casey CLC also provides:

  • Support for 6th and 7th Grade Community Building Days
  • 8th Grade adventure to Washington D.C.
  • Casey Sports Teams

This is our fourth year of programming at Casey. Our data shows that students who participate in CLC programming do better in school then those students who do not.  So, please, encourage your student to participate, and if you can help with a donation of time, money, or food please contact Karen at 303 442-5235 x260, karen.raucher@bvsd.org.
  • Homework Help – Monday – Thursday from 3:30 – 4:30 in the Library. Come have a snack and find a quiet place to do your homework.  We also provide support from teachers and volunteers if you need it.
  • Hip Hop Culture Club – Tuesdays 3:30 – 4:45 in Room 319. Learn about Hip Hop music & dancing, DJ’ing & scratching, and the graffiti art form.
  • Outdoor Adventures – We are planning these adventures on Friday mornings 7:30- 8:30 in Mr. Schwartz’s room.  The first trip is an overnight camping trip in Rocky Mountain National Park on Sept 29th. The group will also plan and attend a winter camping trip and spring backpacking trip.
  • Girls Discovering Life! – Mondays’ 3:30 -5.  This fun workshop is provided in conjunction with the City of Boulder. 
  • Chess League – Tuesday mornings 7:30 – 8:30in Mr. Greenberg’s Room. Come learn the game or compete.
  • Casey Players Theater Troupe – Practices are Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 3:30 – 4:45 in the Auditorium. The fall play, The Lion King, was performed on November 15 & 16.
  • Private Music Instruction on all instruments! By arrangement.  Contact Karen, Ms. LeMaster or Ms. Lotterhas for more information.
  • Folklorico After School Dance Troupe – Tuesday & Friday 3:30 – 4:40 in the auditorium.  Can’t get into Sr. Diaz’s dance class or just want more.  This is your chance to learn to Folkorico dance.
  • Skiing & Snowboarding - at Eldora Mountain on November 20th, January 22, and Feb 16th.  Come spend your day off from school in the mountains with your Casey friends.  Lessons, rentals, and even coats and gloves provided.
  • Second Semester… Look for information in the Casey Newsletter.
  • Documentary Filmmaking, Rock Climbing, Cooking Club, Weight Training
