Where Education Makes A Difference! 

 

 Technical Certificates Available

Boulder TEC provides an opportunity for students to receive a technical certificate for the successful completion of a program area.  All TEC programs provide the opportunity for students to receive either a one semester, one year, or two year certificate depending on the pathway chosen by the student.  Certificates are controlled and monitored by the Colorado Community Colllege Systems, have the mimimum requirements of a C or above on all transcripted grades, full credit for each term, completion of all required competencies, and a minimum number of hours.

1 Semester Certificate = 235 hours training= 2 absences allowed within one semester

1 Year Certificate= 470 hours of training = 4 absences allowed for two semesters

2 Year Certificate= 940 hours of training= 8 absences allowed within two years

Makeup opportunities are provided for students to assist in the certificate completion.  For more information on certification, contact the program instructor or the adminstration.

 General Information

Boulder Technical Education Center proudly offers a wide range of technical training programs for students ages fifteen and older within the Boulder Valley Public Schools and for adults seeking continuing training in technical fields.  Currently, there are thirteen technical programs offering industry standard training at the highest level.  For more information on the specific program area, click on the program listing.

 

Earn College Credit while in High School!

Boulder TEC coursework is coordinated with the Colorado Community College System's coursework.  This crosswalk provides the opportunity for students to receive free community college credit for sucessful completion of a TEC program.  Most TEC programs have a number of community college classes which can be articulated to a transcript without charge by the agreeing community college once a student certifies in the program and enrolls in a particular community college and transcripts one class.  Students must complete the certification requirements within a program to articulate credits to the community college.  For more information on free college credits, contact the
TEC Counselor of the administration.

Boulder TEC has specific articulation agreements with the following Colorado Community Colleges:

Front Range Community College, Aims Community College

Escrow Credit may be available to students who receive a B or above on all transcripted credit and receive a technical certificate.  Escrow credit may be taken to ANY Colorado Community College in the state and transcripted into some associate degrees.  For more information on Escrow Credit, contact the Assistant Director.

All credits escrowed or articulated into a Colorado Community College may not transfer to a four year institution.
