Special Education
Special Education at Angevine has recently been revamped to best meet the needs of all students with mild to severe learning disabilities. Program changes include elimination of the distinction between traditional and special education classes by providing all students with the opportunity to participate in typical education classes. Special education teachers team teach with regular education teachers while providing classroom accommodations, helping to scaffold lessons, offering re-teaching opportunities and working in small groups with special education students to provide specific instruction to meet student needs. Additionally study skills classes are offered to allow special education teachers more time and a smaller student to teacher ratio to work on student specific issues. Angevine is also home to two specialized programs, ICAN and the Multi-Intensive Learning Program, to meet the needs of students with severe, emotional physical and cognitive disabilities.
