Physical Education
Our goal in the Physical Education Department at Angevine is to provide each student with an opportunity for success and enjoyment.  We evaluate students on the quality of participation and effort they put into the physical education class.  We believe that every student has the ability to be successful.  We define the quality of a students’ participation by their level of effort, attitude, sportsmanship/cooperation, attention, and preparedness.  We believe that students who strive for achievement ion those areas will make positive, natural progress in their learning and development and will have a positive effect on their classmates.

Health
In 2004, the Boulder Valley School District Board of Education adopted a new K-12, comprehensive, skills-based health curriculum.  The purpose of the curriculum is to give your child the skills and information to make healthy life choices.  The BVSD health curriculum is built on seven health education standards that are developed in age-appropriate ways through seven content areas.  Because we know parent involvement is so important in this area of study, your child will periodically have health homework in which you are encouraged to participate.  The lessons provide a simple way to start discussions with your child. Share family values, and discover what your child is thinking about important health issues.  Parents may ask to preview the health curriculum and learning materials at any time.  The adopted health curriculum can be found on the BVSD website at:
www.bvsd.k12.co.us.  Click on:”Learning” at the top of the page, “Standards and Curriculum” “Health Education,” and then “Health Curriculum Documents.”   We believe that when students discuss health related issues together in the classroom, facilitated by an adult, students will be better equipped to deal with the health risks they may encounter through their lives.
