Welcome to the Health First School Medicaid Program Web Site

The School Health Services, School Medicaid Program through state statutes allows school districts to seek partial reimbrsement from Medicaid for health and medical services provided to Medicaid-eligible students with an Individual Education Plan (IEP).

Funds received are used to provide expanded health services to all district students to improve the health and wellness of students in the district.

Boulder Valley School District follows a Five Year Local Services Plan approved by the Colorado Department of Education to guide plan spending.  A community needs assessment is required every five years and was last completed in the 2013-2014 school year.

There are 5 priority areas iddentified for use of the state funds:

1- Social/Emotional

2- Health Education

3- Access to Health Care

4- Access to Health Insurance

5 -Coordination of Services
