Harvest Bar

The Harvest Bar is a kid-sized self-serve bar featuring a variety of fruits and vegetables students can choose to try as part of their school lunch.

The goals for the Harvest Bar are to increase student consumption of fruits and vegetables; to offer students more variety and choices of produce; and to increase participation in the school lunch program.

Children are not limited to the number or amount of items taken on the Harvest Bar. Instead, they are encouraged to “Take what you want – but eat what you take.”

Daily offerings include fresh lettuce mix and a variety of vegetables such as baby carrots, cherry tomatoes, and broccoli florets. Fruits include fresh seasonal choices such as kiwi, apples, and watermelon, as well as perennial kid favorites such as mandarin oranges.

A side serving from the Harvest Bar may be added to lunch from home for $0.75.
