BOULDER, CO – The Boulder Valley Board of Education today announced its list of three finalists for BVSD superintendent. It is the school board’s intent to select and approve the new superintendent in May with the goal that he or she takes over as superintendent July 1, 2011. Interviews will take place on Monday (4/25), Wednesday (4/27) and Thursday (4/28) of next week with a different finalist visiting each day.
Each finalist will meet for one hour respectively with each of three BVSD community engagement interview committees representing different geographical areas of the nearly 500-square-mile district. These one hour interview sessions, open to the public, take place at 1:00 p.m., 2:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. in the Board Meeting Room of the BVSD Educational Center, located at 6500 E. Arapahoe Road in east Boulder. At the end of each session, committee members will fill out a one-page assessment of the finalist. That committee feedback will be immediately entered into an electronic format to be viewed by each school board member as soon as possible. Any member of the public who attends a session will also be able to fill out a one-page assessment that will also be shared with the school board.
The three finalists for BVSD superintendent are:
- Dr. Nancy Sebring, currently Superintendent of the Des Moines Public Schools in Des Moines, Iowa
- Dr. Deirdre Pilch, currently Assistant Superintendent for School Leadership of the Boulder Valley School District in Boulder, Colorado
- Dr. Bruce Messinger, currently Superintendent of Helena Public Schools in Helena, Montana
Dr. Sebring will visit BVSD Monday, April 25. Dr. Pilch will be interviewed Wednesday, April 27. Dr. Messinger will visit BVSD Thursday, April 28.
