BOULDER: Apparently quite a few people selected BVSD as the benefactor when they recycled their cell phones recently. As a result, the district is going to receive $4193 from the CenturyLink/Qwest Go Green for Schools program. The check will be presented to BVSD during the public comment portion of the May 10 meeting of the Boulder Valley Board of Education (BVSD Education Center, 6500 East Arapahoe Road, Boulder).
Qwest/CenturyLink requested that BVSD direct these funds toward technology initiatives.
Go Green for Schools is a cell phone recycling program that helps raise money for public school districts and prek-12 educational initiatives. More information on this program is available at www.qwest.com/gogreenforschools.
