BOULDER – Four newly elected and re-elected BVSD school board members were sworn into office Tuesday evening (11/29) and then proceeded to elect their new slate of officers for the next two years.

The new officers elected by the board for the 2011-2013 board term are:

President          Jim Reed
Vice President  Laurie Albright
Treasurer         Tom Miers

Re-elected board members who each began their second term on the school board are Jim Reed of Erie and Laurie Albright of Boulder.

Newly elected board members who took their oath of office for the first time are Shelly Benford of Boulder who succeeded term-limited board member Helayne Jones and Sam Fuqua of Boulder who succeeded term-limited board member Ken Roberge. Dr. Jones and Mr. Roberge were thanked for their years of service at a reception prior to tonight’s special school board meeting.

The next regular meeting of the school board is Tuesday, December 13 at 6:00 PM in the Board Meeting Room in the BVSD Education Center located at 6500 E. Arapahoe Road in east Boulder.
