Expand/Collapse Question : I am getting a lot of spam delivered to my inbox.  How come it is getting through the e-mail filter? ‎(1)
This is an example of e-mail spoofing.  E-mail spoofing is a term used to describe fraudulent email activity in which the sender address, recipient address and other parts of the email header are altered to appear as though the email originated from a different source. E-mail spoofing is a technique commonly used for spam e-mail and phishing to hide the origin of an e-mail message.
 
Since e-mail spoofing hides the origin of the e-mail the filter sees them as legitimate and delivers them to your inbox.  Please delete these messages and do not open them. 
Expand/Collapse Question : I am receiving a lot of messages from mg-notify@bvsd.org.  Why am I getting so many? ‎(1)
Due to a high number of requests, MG Notify (our e-mail filter and notification software) has been updated in two ways. 
 
First, email considered to be “bulk” by the filter is now included in the MG Notifier messages.  Second, the frequency of its notification e-mails has been increased from every six hours to every two hours during the business day. These changes enable you to release legitimate e-mails to yourself more quickly.
Expand/Collapse Question : I can't log in to my BVSD SharePoint website.  What do I need to do? ‎(1)
If you are prompted to log in to your site, make sure you enter your BVSD user name and password in the following format:
 
User name: bvsd\firstname.lastname
Password: your network/email password
Expand/Collapse Question : I heard that employees and students could purchase Microsoft products at discounted rates.  Where can I make a purchase? ‎(1)
You may purchase discounted Microsoft software through the following URL: http://bvsd.onthehub.com.
Expand/Collapse Question : My mailbox is over the limit.  Can you increase my mailbox storage space? ‎(1)
Mailbox limits are set at 100 MB.  IT just recently increased all mailbox limits and cannot increase limits beyond 100MB at this time due to server space. 
 
Attachments usually take up the most space in your mailbox and can be saved on your hard drive and then removed from your mailbox. 
 
Items included in your quota are located in Calendar, Deleted Items, Drafts, Inbox, Sent Items, Junk Email and any personal folders you have created within your mailbox.  Please delete any unneeded e-mails (including those in your sent items folder and deleted items folder) to free up mailbox storage space.
