Multi-Ethnic Action Community Committee (MEACC)
MEACC works in partnership with the school district on issues that reflect equity in education for parents, students and staff of color. MEACC meets every third Thursday of the month from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at different locations. On occasion MEACC has special meetings to address specific issues.
MEACC is focused on addressing issues that pertain to:
- affirmative hiring of staff of color
- achievement gap
- dropout/pushout rates
- graduation rates
- staff/faculty of color support
- parent involvement issues
- relevant curriculum, etc.
MEACC has developed excellent working relationships with the BVSD leadership and has direct ties to the community of color. MEACC is in a unique position to represent the interests of the BVSD community of color. Although MEACC has been designed to represent issues, interests and strengths of the community of color, MEACC has formed collaborations with Boulder Valley Safe Schools Coalition and Parent Involvment Network and often addresses issues or questions that other non-community of color parents may have concerning their children's education.
