A significant aspect of promoting equity and supporting diversity involves curriculum. The BVSD Equity Office has worked to support Learning Services in providing educators with curriculum, texts and supplementary materials that will ensure that students receive learning materials which are free of bias. We have assembled a list of some appropriate multicultural books dealing with equity and multiculturalism that students will appreciate. In terms of evaluating text books and other supplementary materials, the equity office has created a supplementary materials review guide, to support educators in selecting materials that are free of racial, ethnic, gender, socio-economic, religious, cultural and other forms of bias.
