Academic Goals:
Fireside’s equity goal is to reduce the gap in reading skills between selected subgroups as measured by the Colorado Student Assessment Program (CSAP) Reading assessments. Our achievement goal is to improve math scores as measured by CSAP Math assessments. Our climate goals are to improve the overall positive responses in a couple areas areas: bullying and belief that we have clear rules at school as measured by the district student and staff surveys. We are also making efforts to raise the return rate for the BVSD parent survey.
School Profile
One of the best kept secrets in the Boulder Valley School District, Fireside Elementary sets a high standard in academic achievement along with having a strong focus on the development of the whole child. We have just begun our 19th year as an exceptional center for learning in Louisville.
One of the numerous reasons for our continued success is the quality of our staff. Several of our teachers have been recognized for their leadership and expertise in a variety of content areas. In addition, Fireside enjoys a great deal of parent support. We believe whole-heartedly in the partnership that should exist between home and school. Our parent satisfaction surveys indicate that this partnership is purposeful and thriving.
With a rich, multicultural population, we have families that speak more than 17 different languages at our school. Our students and families represent many different cultures from around the world.
Fireside’s student achievement scores have historically been among the highest in the school district and state as measured by CSAP. However, strong academic achievement is not enough! We believe that all aspects of a child’s development are equally important. We are committed to celebrating and challenging the unique abilities in every child, respecting individual differences and creating a safe environment that nurtures the natural curiosity in all of us.
