Besides college or university credit from an accredited institution, an educator may earn salary credit to be used for horizontal movement on the salary schedule through successful completion of BVSD professional development programs and courses identified as qualifying "for salary credit."  These approved actvities usually require outside-of-class work equal to the number of in-class hours and a project/product. 

Historically, salary credit is not approved for: educational travel, most school reform involvement; internships, student teacher supervision; independent studies; salary credit from districts other than BVSD; and independently offered courses, workshops and seminars.  No salary credit is awarded if the participant was paid for program/course time (contractual day or extra duty).
