Tom,
At
one of the DAT meetings I remember asking about the possibility of geo-thermal
on the Columbine site. I've just spoken to our friend Chris Koch who is working
in that field (who also happens to be a former founding teacher at Summit
Middle School) and he is interested in providing the architects and the
district with a proposal, which he feels will be competitive with any current
estimates you have on HVAC systems. Of course, not only will his bid be
competitive but the district also need to take into account that this bond was
voted on by the community in order to make schools more efficient and more
green. He will also address any misconceptions that many in the building
industry have regarding geo-thermal energy.

Dear DAT Members,
In our June meeting, we
had targeted August 10th as our next meeting. Currently the architects
are working on the Design Documents and are scheduled to be complete on
September 1.
Therefore, I would like
to reschedule our next DAT meeting for TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 15 at 5:30 PM so we have DD’s to present to the team.
