CTE Program Compliance
As a Career and Technical Education Program, the instructor and the district are responsible to maintain program compliance by reporting and completing various processes controlled by the Colorado Community College Systems (CCCS). Below, you will find brief descriptions of many of these process along with contact information for assistance within BVSD.
Program Approval:
A program approval is the documentation required by the Colorado Community College Systems (CCCS) to assure the quality and rigor of the program being taught. The approval contains information such as program completion pathways, five year trend information, program content, course description, etc. Programs are normally approved for a five year period. However, programs may be placed on probationary status for a year to three years at a time based on student program completion data. Instructors must work in collaboration with the district's CTE office to request, amend, or change program approvals.

Program Portfolios:
Approved CTE programs must maintain an up to date portfolio containing specific information regarding the program. The portfolio is to be updated yearly with appropriate information and maintained within the program area for use in audits, advisory committees, and other related events. The content of the program portfolio is maintained by the CTE Director's office with the portfolios being reviewed o n an every other-year-basis to assure compliance with CCCS regulations. If portfolio requires rechecking, it will be done the folllowing year.

Advisory Committee:
All approved CTE programs are required to have an advisory meeting once each semester to review the program, recommend changes and updates, etc. within the program. The committee is to be made up of 51% of industry representatives and should have approximately 9-12 members. Meetings should be held following Robert's Rules of Order and the minutes recording on the appropriate advisory committee meeting form. Minutes must be signed by the advisory chair. Minutes of both meetings, the agendas, and the membership lists for the committee must be turned in to the CTE Director's office prior to the deadline. See important CTE dates for specifics.

Student Organizations and Leadership Opportunities:
All approved CTE programs must offer the opportunity for students to participate in a career and technical student organization (CTS) or provide leadership opportunities within the curriculum of the program. If a CTSO is developed within your program, monthly meetings should be held by the students with the minutes of the meetings, the officer list, and any agendas must be turned in each semester by the deadlines. As a CTSO advisor, you must complete the CTSO goal reporting form and the CTSO Advisor Goals and turn into the CTE Director's office. If a stipend is attached to the CTSO within your program, no payment will be given until required forms are submitted. See the forms link to access these documents.
If you choose to integrate leadership within your curriculum, you need to document the leadership activities throughout the semester and complete the leadership activities report at the end of school year. This form is located on the CTE Homepage and will need to be completed and turned into the CTE Director's office prior to the deadline. These activites should also be listed and graded in Infinite Campus (I.C.)
